RONNI AND DOUG'S WEDDING!!

AUGUST 11, 2013

The wedding afternoon was beautiful.  Whereas the skies were overcast for most of the day, by 4PM the skies were a beautiful blue and the sun was shining.

The wedding ceremony was held at the top of Bay Mountain and you can get up there by chair lift or golf cart.  Chair lift was preferable.

Met up with family members at the bottom waiting for the chairlift to begin its ascent.

Suzanne, Lois and Marcia looking stunning!

Stephanie Fahey stunning in red, black & white

Finally we are moving up the mountain ... Paul and Stephanie Fahey with their three daughters in front.

As you climb up the “mountain”, all you see are trees, then when you reach the top the view opens up and there lays Lake Michigan!  Wow!

Cousins Marcia Schuze and Suzanne Pratt arrive on the lift!  Smart to remove your shoes - they could slip off on the way up!

A string quartet played softly while we waited for the wedding to begin.

It was a perfect setting for Ronni's perfect day.

We gathered at the top and took a seat.  The sign at the wedding area read, “Two families become one.  Pick a seat, not a side.”  I love it!

Family Scenes

Bob Corrado (Mike & Lois' son-in-law) was the official usher.  Here he is imparting wisdom to Cousin Marcia!  He's charming and has her FULL attention!

Picking the correct seat for Lois is an important task.  Here Bob is assuring Lois of the virtues of the seat in the front!

Mike W. is one of Ronni's Godfathers.  She has two, Gary Bernard is the other one.  What a lucky girl she is!

Reading over the program and discussing seating are the Monnins (Dave's sister Dee and husband Brian) and Fahey (Dave's niece Stephanie and husband Paul) families.  Dee is probably taking notes as her son Jordan will be getting married this December.

The family ended up moving to different seats before the ceremony started ..... they were just trying these out!

Mike and Son-In-Law Bob enjoying a moment

Everyone was seated,  the music started to change and we knew something was going to happen.

The Flower Girl, Leah Schneider, niece of the groom stole our hearts as she came down the aisle with her mom.

The rest of the bridal party came in, but too quickly to pictures since I was sitting a couple of seats in ,

But was able to capture this wonderful picture of the bride Ronni with her father Ron!

Ronni’s Godfather/ Uncle Gary Bernard performed the wedding ceremony and did a fantastic job of it!  The words came directly from his heart!  Ronni and Doug exchanged their specially written vows and they were married!

Matron of Honor Jessica Schneider (sister of the groom) with Kevin Kluener (brother of the groom)

Gabrielle Monnin (cousin of the bride) with August (Gus) Appenbrink (brother of the bride)

Jennifer Corrado (cousin of the bride) with Daniel Schneider (brother-in-law of the groom)

Mary Fahey (cousin of the bride) with Anthony Wendling (friend of the groom)

Flower Girl ... Leah Schneider

Ring Bearer, Noah Schneider (nephew of the groom)

Max and Ron .... proud parents of the bride

James & Kathryn (Kit) Kluener, proud parents of the groom

Now, I'm sorry to say I didn't catch any pictures of Ronni and Doug walking back down the aisle.  But trust me when I say they were happy, happy and happy!

While photos were being taken of the bridal party, we were served appetizers and drinks.  So we had our own little family picture taking session.

Emma (Lois' granddaughter), Lois and Jen (Lois' daughter)

Ah, the family, here we have VJ and Mert (Dave's brother), Marge with Dave (Dave's sister).  In the back is Bob and Jen (Dave's niece)

We all hopped back on the chair lift (except for those who took the golf cart) and came back down the mountain to the reception held at the Mountain Flowers Lodge.

The flowers in the wedding were these beautiful hydrangeas and baby's breath.  It was gorgeous in its simplicity.

Suzanne Pratt enjoys the company of her great nieces Tessa and Emma.  This would be the first time she has met these girls.

As we entered the Reception, our names with table assignments were laid out on wine corks.  The table numbers represent a specific year in the lives of Ronni and Doug.  We were at Table 1996 and there were pictures of Ronni and of Doug in 1996.  A clever idea!

Tim Westerheide (Dave's nephew) with Emma Fahey (Tim's niece) were seated at our table.  Tim is the family chef and what a great job he can do with any piece of food!

Below are Emma's parents, Stephanie and Paul.

The Bride and Groom dance is always special.  As is the Father/Daughter dance!

Max looking the cool, relaxed Mother of the Bride (or is she alseep?)

The Godfathers ... Mike and Gary with Marge enjoy the evening.

After the dances and cutting the cake, the first generation family members  migrated to the beautiful patio after dinner.

The Smoker's Club .... Mert being a good sport!  Actually she's just trying to catch some fresh air!

Poor Lois and her mangled fingers!  Didn't stop her for a second!

GENTLEMEN'S SMOKING CLUB W/LADY!

It was a great evening.  This family knows how to party!

Wishing Ronni and Doug a wonderful life!
