In no time we
were out of Ohio into Pennsylvania and then in no time we were in New York
traveling on the New York Thruway.
Sadly, they do not take SUNPASS from Florida so we’ll part with cash at
our exit....$11.50.
The Thruway is
bumpy as one would expect with the frost heaves and road repair budgets. In fact, throughout this entire trip there haven’t
been any decent interstates that are smooth.
Traveling in an MH you feel the road more than by car so that’s probably
why I’m noticing it.
The winds
blowing across Niagara River were topping out at about 20 mph with gusts
higher. It felt like the MH was going to
be blown over. We reached the toll
bridge to cross Niagara River and it went up and up. As Dave was struggling to get across, I asked
if he could stop and take a picture. He
kept right on going so I didn’t get a good picture of the river.
We are staying
at The Branches of Niagara RV Resort on Grand Island. Fortunately as we reached the Grand Island
side of the bridge, the skies opened up – fortunately that it wasn’t happening
as we were driving up and across the bridge!
The campground is very nice. Only
about ten people here but the weather is not so great.
It’s hard to
believe I’m back in the north again. Ran down to TOPPS for some groceries and we
settled in for the night.
